日本の伝統である着物。しかしながら、現在では着物を着る機会も減り、使われずにしまってあったり、捨てられたりしてしまっています。

特別な日にしか着なくなった着物を、普段の生活に取り入れやすいようにバッグに作り替えてみました。お仕事にはもちろん、お買い物やお稽古など日々さりげなく使えるような作品を、一つ一つ丁寧にハンドメイドしています。

SoieSumikoは、「ソワスミコ」と読みます。Soieはフランス語で絹を意味します。

初めまして！現在77歳の現役バッグデザイナーです。
20代の頃はお嫁さんを完全プロデュースしたいと思い、服飾デザイナーとフラワーデザイナーをやっておりました。
あるお客様からお母様の帯を「何でも良いから作れるだけ作って欲しい」と依頼されたことをきっかけに、様々な方の帯をバッグに仕上げてまいりました。

素敵なビンテージやアンティークの帯や着物からバッグとして日常に使ってもらえるアイテムに変身させて皆様に使っていただければ幸いです。

Kimono is a Japanese tradition. However, nowadays, there are fewer opportunities to wear kimonos, and they are either stored unused or thrown away.

A kimono that is only worn on special occasions has been transformed into a bag so that it can be easily incorporated into everyday life. We carefully handcraft each piece that can be used casually every day, not only for work, but also for shopping and lessons.

Nice to meet you! I am a 77-year-old active bag designer. In my twenties, I aspired to fully produce brides and engaged in fashion and flower design.

It was a customer's request to transform their mother's obi (traditional belt) into bags that became the catalyst for me to create various bags from different people's obi.

I hope to transform beautiful vintage and antique obi and kimono into items that can be used in daily life as bags, and I would be delighted if everyone could enjoy using them.
